Specialties: Rachel specializes in Pilates for individuals who have spinal cord injuries and other neurological conditions, including but not limited to Multiple Sclerosis, Cerebral Palsy, strokes (CVA) and traumatic brain injuries.
Personal Story: Rachel received a B.S. degree from UC Davis in Exercise Biology in 2012 while simultaneously playing division I soccer. After graduation, Rachel worked as a physical therapy aide both locally and abroad. In 2013, she traveled to South America to work with pediatric clients suffering from neurological and physical conditions where she discovered her passion in the neurological field of therapy. Rachel was introduced to Pilates in 2014 and became a big believer when she saw the progress her clients were making by incorporating Pilates into their rehabilitation.
Philosophy: Rachel believes that everyone, no matter their capabilities or challenges, has the right to an active and healthy lifestyle. Pilates is an excellent tool to re-establish the mind-body connection, especially for those with debilitating injuries, diseases, or other neurological challenges. She is excited to follow her passion and continue teaching clients in this population to re-train their nervous system and improve their movement.
Fun Fact: Rachel played for the UC Davis soccer team and was honored to serve as the team’s captain. Rachel has a passion for travel and currently is teaching herself to play the guitar.
