Years of Teaching: 1.5 years
Education/Certifications: 500 hour Yoga training with Yogaworks
Specialities: Massage therapist for 16 years.
Personal Story: I have always been one who is comfortable around groups of people. I tend to thrive in this atmosphere. For 15 years I had a small massage practice in Lafayette. I knew when it was time for a career change that I would always stay working with people and the body. Yoga has lent this to me. I tend to look at yoga as over all health care. Mind and body. When I teach, I teach to the individual as best as I can. I like to teach in a light hearted environment. I want students to be safe as I guide them but also, to find each posture their own. Yoga in a group setting can still be an individual experience.
Fun Fact: I have spent nearly 35 years going to a family camp. I started to Berkeley Tuolumne Camp as a young child. My Father and his family spent weeks of their summer there too. Before it was a family camp my grandfather went to the camp for a men's fishing camp. In August of 2013 our beloved camp was lost in the rim fire. It was like losing a family member. So needless to say, I became very good at campfire songs.
